One family. One village. One good table.
We're a family, with two brothers at the centre of it: Mike in the kitchen, Tim behind the bar. In June 2025, in Val-David in the Laurentians, about an hour from Montreal, we took over the building that was once Le Baril Roulant and brought it back to life our way. A pub downstairs, seven rooms upstairs, and the same idea everywhere: host people well.

Mike keeps the menu short because he actually makes it. Light-battered fish & chips, steak with chimichurri, crispy wings, maple sticky toffee. Tim handles the bar, the pints, and the bottles worth opening. Nothing fussy for the sake of it. Just good food, served hot, with a real glass beside it.
The terrasse is open.
The Rivière du Nord runs right across the road. You hear the water, the glasses arriving, the bikes slowing down on Le P'tit Train du Nord. When the weather is kind, this is where you want to be: a pint, fish & chips, and no great hurry to leave.
Seven rooms. The river for a lullaby.
Stay two or three nights. Walk the village, ride Le P'tit Train du Nord, head up to Tremblant, then come back for dinner downstairs. No shuttle, no fuss: your table is here, and so is your room.
